Agnieszka Słodkowska

2012-05-30

And it's finally here. After lengthy negotiations and exchange e-mails, Mrs. Agnieszka agreed to hang a few of his works in the OnLine ArtExpert Gallery. We present a few her works from the serie Japanorama, which I am a big fan. She perfectly captures the atmosphere of Japan, especially in Tokyo, the city, through which aech evening poured colorful crowd of young people, city full of advertising lights, shop windows, huge screens, colored reflections, stray car lights. In Japanoramie you can hear this noise, the hum of the street, feeling smells of small Japanese pubs and restaurants, you just feel the life of this great monster city, a great world metroplii where  mixes ultra modern Japanese technology with Japanese tradition and culture. Such an atmosphere there is nowhere in the world and it's the reason to see Japanorama by Agnieszka Slodkowska, buy one of her paintings and be transfer for a while in Japan. It will be really successful purchase you will be satisfied.

Nowe Ikony

2012-05-15

Why New Icons? Because we want to present you the Aartist who has developed a new method of painting icons. Icons, a kind of sacred painting on the old boards, which in themselves have their own history - Ms. Ela Borkowska used timber from old połemkowsky cottages in the Bieszczady Mountains. It is very rewarding and absorbent base for this new technique, in which the artist uses only natural dyes. This technique, if we do not delve into the mysteries of chemistry, involves staining the boards with dry pigment extracted from nature in conjunction with the wine. Wine as a pigment binder "introduces" the color into the boards do not obliterating the natural figure of wood, and to form like a ghost image, as it was once called the "wood zamkniony". After obtaining such an image-spectral image is etched the strongest oxidant, which is nitric acid, and then after that the pigment fused with wood and has not been washed out. After all these treatments para-alchemical image is protected in full warm beeswax. A description of this process is short, but please believe us that it all takes a lot of time, and the board, but the impression of an infinite, it is a deliberate artistic purpose: if it had been snatched from an old church ...

This method may be used only artists with perfect technique, hand painting and confidence, because you can not do a sketch on the board or to confuse the movement of the brush, the pigment with the wine is so deeply absorbed that the correction is not possible and only sanding the board makes it possible to getting started work from scratch. There are yet in this way he painted. I made this technique some thirty works and the only place where work has been represented in a small gallery in Bieszczady.

Japońska sztuka kaligafii

2012-05-08

We want to present you the works of art of calligraphy made by Ms. Yoshiko Yoschida, which cultivates an abstract calligraphy. We look forward now to the images that will be performed by Yoshiko specifically for ArtExpert.

One can trace shodou's history to China, where the master Wang Xizhi is credited with the creation of the art. Shodou was first introduced into Japan in the 8th century. The early Heian contemporaries Kuukai, Emperor Saga, and courtier Tachibana no Hayanari are respectfully known as the Sanpitsu (Three Great Brushes), and their calligraphy is considered a true representation of Chinese calligraphy's timeless beauty.

In the 10th and 11th centuries these three were succeeded by the Sanseki (Three Traces): Ono no Toufuu, Fujiwara no Sukemasa, and Fujiwara no Yukinari. These three masters developed what would become the first uniquely Japanese calligraphy style, wayou (also joudaiyou). Fujiwara no Yukinari's style led to the creation of the Sesonji school, and Ono no Toufuu served as an archetype for the Shouren'in school which later became the Oie style of calligraphy. The Oie style was used for official documents in the Edo period and was the prevailing style taught in the terakoya schools of that time.

Just as calligraphy has evolved over time, its broad latitude for creativity and the increasing number of women masters today characterizes the resurgent interest in calligraphy.

The rapid rise in prices of fine art

2012-04-02

Prices of art continue to grow. The paitings that you could just buy for 500 or 1000 PLN, now cost tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. And we are not talking about the artists recognized and often already dead, as Henryk Siemiradzki, Jan Lebenstein or recently deceased Roman Opalka, but also about the artists creating today and enjoying a reputation not only in the country but also abroad. To this generation belong Jan Tarasewicz, Tadeusz Brzozowski, Andrzej Wroblewski end the others. Some of them have already joined the elite of the most respected contemporary painters. Here we should first mention the name of Wilhelm Sasnal, whose career has amazed the whole Polish art world. His paintings, which several years ago you could buy for the 1500 - 3000 PLN, are negotiated now on the auctions, at the level of 100 - 400 thousand euros.

As you can see even in a crisis, the art stands quite well, and many investors perceive the art as the secure value that can be compared to gold, precious stones or the Swiss francs. So, invest in ART!

100 + 1 Beautiful Paintings Exhibition and Auction

2011-11-24

An exhibition featuring the works of renowned, contemporary painters and the most talented artists of the young generation was held from 22nd to 24th October 2011. An auction of the exhibited works was conducted on the last day of the exhibition, that is, 24th October. The event proved to be a great success, as far as media coverage was concerned. Many members of the artistic community, collectors and art lovers expressed their positive opinions and wished the organizers further achievements in this area. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with TVP Kultura, which was supposed to provide the main media coverage and which has shown no major interest in the event, except for a brief visit of one journalist, and which hasn’t mentioned the event on its website at all. We don’t understand it, because we really like TVP Kultura... Other media coverage providers kept their word and helped us to organize and promote the event which was greatly appreciated. They include: ZPAP OW, Artysta i Sztuka (Art and Artist) quarterly and the sponsor companies: Zielona Budka and Clear Channel Polska. We are grateful for your help and we wish you a lot of success, so that you can support such cultural events as ours in the future, since their proper promotion is very often out of the organizers’ scope. We have sold many exhibited paintings, but unfortunately, the auction itself has not instilled a spirit of adventure among the guests. It was a first attempt in Poland to hold an auction with the prices proposed by the painters themselves. Most of the paintings were bought by the invited guests against the asking prices. In many case, the prices proposed by the painters proved to be “prohibitive prices” and did not work well in the auction sale system.

We and our Artists would like to thank all Guests who kindly visited our exhibition and participated in the auction.

Współpraca z zagranicą

2011-12-01

We started negotiations with one of the Swiss auction house on cooperation and our participation in the auctions which are held four times a year in Geneva. The first problem I encountered in discussions with our partners is a little knowledge of Polish artists among local collectors of contemporary art, and the audience does not know their work and offer of Polish contemporary art. A few paintings that we gave to the valuation by local experts, returned to us with a comment that they are not able to give their opinion, due to poor awareness of their authors in the local market, which of course has nothing to do with the artistic level of presented works.

Inspired by what I see around me and what happens to me. But my work did not focus only on myself but on my personal experience which is only a starting point and a kind of inspiration to the study of human. Thus, topics which I undertake are: ambition, beauty, self-confidence.
Each of the topics that I take very subjectively undertake. In dealing with a topic I go out of my experiences and thoughts then I expand field of my interest. You can not say that my paintings are realistic, but use a realistic means of painting. I create my space where I put the symbolic elements of creating in a kind of rebus. But to read it, does not need the scientific method, but the emotions and sensibilitie of the recipient. I try to consrict my work that I build a few levels of perception that reciepients with different sensitivity could enjoy it.
Often when I want to say something, it turns out that the means of painting are closer to me than words.
